Description of the Route and Environment
This circuit is ideal for those who are just starting to practice cycling tourism, ideal for family rides, with an incredible view of the surrounding mountains. This route has different types of terrain, from cobblestone roads, dirt, cobblestone and a few stretches of asphalt and cement. We start in the parish of Machachi from the sector of the El Chan Stadium and goes through the old road (old Panamerican Highway), La Moya sector, the Aloasi train station, the central park of Aloasi and the arrival to Machachi. The predominant rural landscape is characteristic of the Ecuadorian highlands with several farms that are dedicated to agriculture and livestock, traditional activities of the canton Mejia. The best time to visit this place is during the dry season. The temperature ranges from 12° C to 21° C.
