How to get to the Valley of 9 Volcanoes?

To get to Mejía from Quito, take the Panamericana highway heading south for approximately 37 kilometers, until reaching the Canton's main town of Machachi. It can likewise be reached directly from the airport in Tababela, by crossing the valley of ``Los Chillos`` heading toward Amaguaña. You will then pass Tambillo, and continue from the exit ramps through E 35, until Kilometer 37, which then enters the town of Machachi. You can also use the public transport system. There are currently two bus transport cooperatives in Quito: Carlos Brito and Mejía. The bus stops are located at strategic points: the southern Terminal Quitumbe, in the sector of ``La Villaflora`` roundabout; and the area of “El Trebol.” Alternatively, you can take the interprovincial buses that pass through the Panamericana highway to Latacunga, Ambato, Riobamba, and other southern cities. From Guayaquil, take the road to Riombamba and then the Panamericana highway. Alternatively, you may arrive by the Alóag – Santo Domingo Road.
