The Valley of the 9 Volcanoes
Mejía is located in the South East of the province of Pichincha. Its limits are: to the North: cantons, Quito and Rumiñahui; to the South: Province of Cotopaxi; to the East: Province of Napo and to the West: Province of Santo Domingo de los Tsáchilas. It has an area of 1,456km2; It is made up of eight parishes, seven rural (Alóag, Aloasí, El Chaupi, Cutuglagua, Manuel Cornejo Astorga (Tandapi), Tambillo and Uyumbicho), and one urban, Machachi, which is the cantonal head.
